(CNN) – “The Hunger Games” surpasses another monstrous milestone and sinks “Titanic’s” hopes of box office domination.
The Lionsgate blockbuster continues to dominate the box office on it’s second weekend in theaters.
This weekend, the film brought in about $33.5 million in ticket sales and surpassed the $300 million mark domestically, crushing “Titanic’s” hopes of snagging the top spot.
And that wasn’t the only film that stood in the way. Resuming box office glory nearly 15 years after it’s initial release, “American Reunion” came in second place with $21.5 million.
“Titanic” settles for third place, with about $17.4 million.
